Below are some of the more commonly asked questions about fishing on a charter. Please feel free to call or email us if you have any other questions. We will be happy to assist you.

Q: Why book a charter with us?

A: Our boat and captains are licensed to charter fish on lake Michigan.

  • We are also an insured charter business.
  • All safety equipment and the latest fishing gear is supplied you .
  • Lake Michigan is a huge body of water. With over 20 years of experience on Lake Michigan we can put you in the right place, at the right time for the best fishing. Because of the large fleet in our harbor we are in constant contact with other boats to help locate fish and to get information on the weather if needed.

Q: Do I need to be an experienced fisherman ?

A: No, we are set up to assist you with all aspects of fishing. From young children to grandpa and grandma. Our boat is set up with all the equipment needed for your comfort, safety and to assure a great fishing experience .


Q: What should I bring?

A: Lake Michigan is a very large body of cold water. It may be warm on shore but it will be cold on the lake especially in the spring. :

  • Dress in layers
  • Soft-soled shoes
  • Warm clothing/rain coat (if necessary)
  • Food and beverage no glass please
  • Sun glasses/sun-screen & lotion
  • Camera
  • Cooler to transport fish home

Q: Can I bring alcohol on the boat?

A: As long as you are legal drinking age, you may bring alcoholic beverages on the boat (no glass please). Illegal substances how ever of any kind are not allowed.



Q: Do I need to buy a fishing license?

A: A fishing license is required for any individual 16 and older. Licenses may be purchased prior on the Wisconsin DNR web site in town or your captain has a license for WI available for purchase on the boat. A Wisconsin two-day license is $14.00, If you have a Wisconsin license you will also need a lake Michigan trout and salmon stamp.



Q: How many people can fish on the boat?

A: Coast guard regulations limit the number of individuals fishing to six, no matter what the age.


Q: What is a limit catch?

A: Per regulation, a limit catch for each person on the boat is five fish. A limit catch is always the captain’s goal.



Q: What if the weather is bad?

A: We fish in all kinds of weather, but safety comes first. If weather reports are unfavorable, the we will call you the 2 nights before to let you know there is a chance the charter may need to be rescheduled. I will contact you again in the morning with the final decision. Although cancellations happen, they are rare. Your deposit is never lost due to weather related cancellations.



Q: Who’s going to clean the fish?

A: We will clean and bag your fish at the end of your trip.
